Captain Babcock Room:
This 3rd floor room is named for a local sea captain from English Creek, who commandeered many of William Moore’s sailing ships. He was later lost at sea, along with his crew of seven, in the “Portland Gale” in Massachusetts Bay while captaining the Abel E. Babcock, a four-masted schooner. This room boasts a restored antique natural wood mantle from the Eastern shore with tiled surround and electric stove, along with many authentic nautical artifacts. This 3rd floor room has lofted ceilings with gables, offers water views of Babcock’s Creek and a peak at the Great Egg Harbor River. It also has a queen size bed, central air conditioning, private bath with stall shower and deluxe amenities, a large wall mounted flat screen TV, Wi-Fi plus secured hard wired high speed internet access and phone.
